Military Tactics and Strategies
To subdue the enemy without fighting, is the acme of skill.
-Sun Tzu, Chinese General and Strategist, 500 B.C.
Hackworth strived to show others in the military that guerilla enemies like the Viet Cong could not be beat using the "conventional" WWII strategies. In order to beat a guerilla, you have to fight like a guerilla or as Hackworth said, "beating them at their own game." This failure to learn how to effectively fight the Viet Cong inspired Hackworth to write a book called Vietnam Primer which exposed this dated concept and spoke to the war strategies that the military should be deploying.
